Giving swimmers feedback while in the pool

Swimmers at Suzhou Singapore International School using the Live Video Delay app to improve technique

Giving swimmers immediate feedback is now possible using iPads and an app called Video Delay. Our swimmers experimented with this app during technique sessions, so they could view our they were progressing in comparison to video that we had shown them earlier of top swimmers and elements of their various swim strokes.

The neat thing with this app is that you can adjust the delay time, so that the athletes can have enough time between finishing their lap and focusing on the video. We used a delay time of 20 seconds for the students to see their film clip. The iPads were mounted on stands at the end of the pool.
