Tuesday – Technique 25s

Today, with it being camp week, a few swimmers came into school to swim and we focused on some breastroke and freestyle technique. We lowered the intensity for most of the session, even though there were a few sprint to keep us on our toes.

Warm Up

200m F/S

Main Set

8 x 25m F/S kick @45

8 x 25m F/S drill – fingertip drag @40

2 x 100 F/S solid with good technique @2.00

2 x 25m F/S sprint @1.00

50m B/S easy recovery

8 x 25m BR/S kick with Y-scull – focus on lifting the head to breathe at the Y position @50

4 x 25m BR/S arms with F/S kick – Y-scull breathing

4 x 25m BR/S – 2 kicks to 1 pull @45

2 x 50m BR/S – 2 kicks to 1 pull @1.30

4 x 25m BR/S DPS @45

2 x 25m BR/S sprint

4 x 25m Fly @1.00

Total – 1650m

He leads workshops across the Asia-Pacific region for the International Baccalaureate in the areas of pedagogical leadership and approaches to teaching and learning. Richard consults with schools on the topics of school improvement and effective implementation and use of technology.

With a background in public and independent school education in the UK and Australia, Richard is enjoying his international school adventure in China. He is passionate about developing and supporting educational leaders, as it is essential to improving all schools.

Richard is a proud family man and feels lucky to be married to Kim and father of their son Austin.

In his spare time Richard enjoys to swim, bike and run and is a now retired football player and coach (with occasional guest appearances)
